Flying Shear - Vertical Knife

Flying Shear with a Vertical Knife

 

 A flying shear (using the Mint FLY command), is used to synchronize the knife with the material and ensure that the knife speed is matched to the material speed. This application also makes use of the motion controller's high speed position latch capability to accurately detect the registration marks on the material.

Special features used:

  • Auxiliary encoder for product synchronisation
  • Built in software flying shear (flying knife) for position synchronization
  • High speed position latch to accurately measure product position
